Cables count as clutter too

The tangle behind the TV, the nest of chargers on the counter — these are visual noise, even though we stop consciously seeing them. You don't need to hide every wire. Just give the worst offenders a home.

Unplug the dead ones first

Before buying anything, unplug every cable going to a device you don't actually own anymore. It's usually a third of the tangle, and it's free.

Give charging one address

Phones charge on the kitchen counter because that's where everyone passes through — exactly the surface a calm kitchen needs clear. One shallow drawer with a socket inside solves it.

The nightstand doesn't need to glow all night

A charging cable snaking across it, plus a phone lighting up — that's a small intrusion on a room meant for rest. One dish, one anchored cable is enough.
